Arts Network is a charity which uses art as a vehicle for recovery and the improvement of wellbeing. Designed primarily for people who have severe mental illness, we provide a safe space in which participants can develop and explore their creativity within a supportive and welcoming environment.

 Workroom

The workroom is at the heart of Arts Network, and is where members come to practice art as a part of our community. We encourage and assist all our members to develop personal projects in line with their own interests. We also regularly run structured workshops that focus on learning a specific technique or artistic practice.

 Trips

We also organise and go on regular trips to museums, galleries and exhibitions. We are always looking for new places to go, and encourage our members to suggest things that they would like to see but might not feel comfortable going to alone.

External Workshops

Outside the workroom, we host public workshops at various institutions throughout London. These are co-facilitated by our members and aim to combat the stigma surrounding mental health though art. Previous workshops have been held at The Tate, Horniman Museum and Gardens, and Albion House, as well as a number of residential and community centres. Check out our social media or sign up to our newsletter at the bottom of this page to find out about where we’ll be next.

Pathways

As members’ health improves we offer them the opportunity to become more involved with the organisation. This can be through co-facilitating workshops, training to become a facilitator, or joining our volunteer programme. If members want to become more active, we can also support them with volunteering with one of our partners.
